About Rick Vuyst
Rick is currently co-host of the Gardening Simplified Show, a radio show, podcast and YouTube show from Proven Winners ColorChoice Shrubs. Hosted by life-long gardeners Rick Vuyst and Stacey Hirvela, the Gardening Simplified show is designed to share our love of plants and gardening. Rick was also host of the award winning Flowerland Show on WOOD radio from 1993 to 2022. Rick was also “Mr. Green Thumb” for WZZM TV 13, the West Michigan ABC television affiliate for over 20 years. Rick worked at Flowerland (West Michigan garden centers) for 46 years, a former owner and CEO, leaving Flowerland in 2022 for “rewirement”. Author of three books on gardening, Rick is a speaker, standup comedian, health enthusiast, an avid runner and loves photography on the Lake Michigan shoreline and in the garden where he lives in West Michigan.
